Hotel Rott - guest reviews and rating

We are pleased to present you the newly refurbished HOTEL ROTT which is located in the very centre of historical Prague at Little Square (Malé náměstí), adjoining the wel – know Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí). It combines historical atmosphere of originally roman houses with the modern amenities. In history there was situated a famous ironmongery U Rotta. One of the buildings prides itself with beautiful frescoes inspired by Mikoláš Aleš paintings that its owners had decorated in 1897 and that embellish the facade till today. The Hotel Rott was opened here after the challenging reconstruction in 2002. Hotel Rott features 82 beautifully appointed guestrooms, including 5 luxury Executive Suites. All of them are quiet and comfortable, many boast splendid city views.
Each room has a private bathroom with shower, hairdryer, telephone, internet connection, individually controlled air conditioning, satellite TV, safety deposit box and mini bar.

i would never stay in this hotel again and would not recomend it. the rooms are extremely small and cloustrofobic. there was a guy painting elevator shaft right outside my window - surprized me by looking into my wiindow! the stuff is rude and inefficient. when i was checking out they had a mix up with my rate and were trying to charge me 195E instead of 100E. i protested and it took 30 minutes of arguing with 3 members of the hotel staff to straighten it out. i did have my original reservation in hand but even with that it was 30 minutes of arguing. granted, everythign in Prague is very expensive but this hotel is absolutely not worth the money.

My husband and I will be returning to Prague and we plan to stay at the same hotel. The breakfast was exceptional. It was also included in the room rate which offsets the higher price. They parked our car which was a real advantage since the streets are very narrow.

    Positives

    • The hotel is located in the middle of the Old Town area. It is located within a short walk to the Charles Bridge and convenient to all the attractions on the other side of the bridge. The square with many restaurants is almost at your door step.

    Negatives

    • We were in a front room and the street in front of the hotel can get noisey.

Really enjoyed the weekend, hotel and taxi excellent.
However Prague has lost it niche and quaintness and has overdone the glass and jewellery exposure - how many gift shops do visitors need?
The architecture is wonderful please don't spoil it.

  • Gareth P. Jones (Mature couple), Mon 18.12.2006

This is the second time that we have stayed in Prague and the first at the Hotel Rott. We have enjoyed both holidays immensely. The hotel is ideally placed for visiting the wonderful sights in Prague complimented by the staff at the hotel who were courteous and very helpful, in particular the taxi driver who speaks excellent English and was able to advise us of the places to visit during our journey from the airport. I have forwarded your details to a work colleague and he has booked a stay at your hotel in the new year to celebrate his first wedding anniversary. I am sure that he will enjoy his visit as much as we did
    Best Regards,
    Gareth Jones.
